Learn from Failures

大成若缺，其用不敝。

Great accomplishment has its flaws, knowing how to utilized is to avoid its failures.

It’s not the achievements that are great, it’s how one uses it.

What is it’s purpose ?

天地生育万物而不遗，成就万物而不弃，此是天地的大成之妙。

Heaven and earth have everything to bear, and all things are achieved without giving up. This is the great achievement of heaven and earth.

事之有成便有缺，物之有新便有敝，成与不成，敝与不敝，其妙全在于一个“用”字。

If something is successful, there will be shortcomings, and when something is new, there will be a differences, success or failure, on the whole it lies in a word – ‘Utilisation’.

用之善者，事未有不成者；用之于不善，事未有不缺者；用之于善，未有不新者；用之不善，未有不敝者。

天下一切事物，有体就有用，有成就有缺。

常言道：“寸有所长，尺有所短”。

事之有成，便有其缺；物之有新，必有其敝。

比如炼金，最纯者也只能达到四个九之度，尚有千分之一不纯，故谓之“金无足赤”。

人皆有长处，亦有短处，故曰“人无完人”。

大 (dà) 成 (chéng) 若 (ruò) 缺 (quē)，其 (qí) 用 (yòng) 不 (bù) 敝 (bì)。
